Hideyoshi Nagachika (Hide) is a tricky case! In the anime, it seems like he's dead after sacrificing himself to save Kaneki. However, the manga tells a different story鈥攈e's alive, albeit in pretty rough shape.
Based on personal experience, I'd say Hide's fate is a bit of a rollercoaster. One moment you think he's gone, the next he's back. Trust me, the manga clears things up.
