Yes, MTG is Turing complete! A group of enthusiasts and researchers proved that you can simulate a Turing machine using the rules and cards of Magic: The Gathering. This means the game's system is capable of performing any computation, given enough time and resources. They constructed theoretical game scenarios that can mimic the behavior of a Turing machine, which is a fundamental concept in computer science for defining computability.

Actually, while it's a fun theory, Magic: The Gathering being Turing complete doesn't impact gameplay at all. It's more of a quirky fact for computer scientists and hardcore fans to geek out about. Don't expect to start doing complex computations while you're deciding whether to attack with your Goblin tokens!

Turing complete? More like nerd-complete. Who cares if a card game is computationally equivalent to a theoretical machine? Just play the game and enjoy it, folks.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
