If your PS3 is a slim model or a later fat model (CECHL and above), it's likely a NOR. Older fat models (CECHA to CECHG) are usually NAND.

Check your PS3 model number on the back. CECHA to CECHG models use NAND, while others are NOR. Easy peasy!

Just look up your PS3 model online. CECHA-CECHG = NAND, the rest = NOR. Done.

I had the same question! Turns out my fat PS3 (CECHC) was NAND. Yours might be similar if it's an old one.
