Yes, but it's complicated! Only the original 20GB and 60GB models of the PS3 can play most PS2 and PS1 games. Later models can still play PS1 games but not PS2.

Short answer: some models, yes. The OG 20GB and 60GB PS3s have backward compatibility, but newer versions, nope.

Not all PS3s can play older games. Early models can handle PS1 and most PS2 games, but you'll need those specific models.

I had an original 60GB PS3, and it worked great with my old PS2 collection. Just make sure you have those earlier versions!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
