Sorry to break it to you, but Splatoon 1's online multiplayer has not been brought back to life. Nintendo moved on to support newer titles.

As a hardcore Splatoon fan, I can confirm from my endless attempts to log in that Splatoon 1's servers remain offline for the foreseeable future.
