Staryu is decent if you're a fan of Water-types, but it really shines once you evolve it into Starmie. It's got a solid moveset and decent stats!

Staryu is pretty average, but evolving it to Starmie gives you a versatile Water/Psychic type that's useful in many situations.

Staryu can be useful for Pokedex completion or if you want a good Water-type early on, but you'll probably replace it later.
