Depends on which Sub-Zero you’re talking about. Bi-Han was a villain, but Kuai Liang is usually portrayed as a hero.

Sub-Zero has kind of a split personality! The original Sub-Zero, Bi-Han, was a bad guy, but his younger brother, Kuai Liang, took over and is generally a good guy.
