Honestly, not exactly. Most SAO games mix open exploration with linear storytelling. So, expect semi-open world at best.

I played 'Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization' and it's pretty close to open world. Large maps, plenty of quests, and freedom to roam! But not fully open-world like Skyrim.
