Absolutely! The first season of Gintama sets up all the characters, their relationships, and the unique world they live in. Plus, you'll miss out on some classic jokes and references that are built on later! Trust me, it's worth it.

Hot take: The first season is kinda slow. If you're not vibing with it, just jump to the serious arcs later on and catch up with the jokes as you go.

Honestly, you could probably skip the first few episodes if you're in a rush. The series takes a little while to find its footing, but the latter part of the first season has some golden moments and essential story arcs.

I started with Gintama's later seasons and went back to the first one. Even though I missed out on some jokes, Gintama is pretty forgiving. However, I later realized the first season's setup made everything much more enjoyable!
