Absolutely, the Ocean Update in Minecraft bears more than a little resemblance to Subnautica, especially with all the new marine life and underwater exploration components. Mojang might have been inspired by all the underwater fun Subnautica offered!

No, Minecraft developers have said they draw inspiration from many sources. Subnautica could be one of them, but it鈥檚 not the only influence.

Totally! You can see the influence in the way Minecraft added detailed underwater biomes, shipwrecks, and new sea creatures. It's like Mojang took a page out of Subnautica's book, adding a splash of creativity to their oceans!

I think so! As someone who's clocked a lot of hours in both games, the Ocean Update in Minecraft definitely gives off some serious Subnautica vibes. From the kelp forests to the shipwrecks, it feels like they took some awesome ideas and made them their own.

Maybe somewhat, but Minecraft's updates are usually a mix of many inspirations. It could just be a coincidence.
