Slim versions of PlayStation consoles are usually lighter and more energy-efficient. The main deciding factor will be if you value space-saving over the current design.
Short answer: Depends if you want it to fit into smaller spaces! Performance should be the same.
From past experience with slim models, they offer the same performance in a sleek, smaller package. Unless you really need the extra space, the original PS5 works just fine.
