In Splatoon 2, the level cap is 99. Once you hit 99, you can choose to 'prestige' and reset your level back to 1, but with a star next to it. So technically, the sky's the limit if you keep prestiging!

Trust me, as someone who's prestiged multiple times, there's no end to how many stars you can add after level 99.
