Valorant's region lock is a real pain. Wanted to play with my cousin in Australia, and nope, couldn't do it without jumping through hoops. Had to contact support to sort it out, and even then, it took ages. So yeah, it's region locked alright.
Yup, Valorant is indeed region locked. So basically, your account's region determines who you can play with. If you wanna squad up with friends from across the globe, you'll have to reach out to Riot Support and ask them to change your region. Just a heads up, though, they might not always say yes.
