Vinland Saga takes inspiration from actual historical events and figures, but it's a mix of fact and fiction. Thorfinn himself is loosely based on Thorfinn Karlsefni, who attempted to establish a Viking settlement in North America. So, real history mixed with anime flair!

It's a blend! Vinland Saga draws heavily on real Viking history and figures but adds plenty of fictional elements for dramatic effect. Keeps you on your toes!
