Not exactly! Work can change an object's kinetic energy, but they aren't the same thing. Work is the energy transfer due to a force causing displacement!

In a way, yes! The work done on an object equals the change in its kinetic energy (thanks to the Work-Energy Theorem).

From my physics classes, work and kinetic energy are related but not equivalent. Work changes kinetic energy.

Nope, work isn't the same as kinetic energy. Work can increase or decrease kinetic energy, though.
