Yoshimura's fate is complex. He does end up in a critical state and is captured by the CCG, but he doesn't die immediately. It's left ambiguous whether he survives long-term.

Yoshimura doesn't get the typical happy ending. He gets captured and put into a vegetative state by the CCG, so he's not exactly dead, but not really alive either.
