Nope, Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball are just two awesome things with dragons. Fun fact: Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, did do the art for Dragon Quest, though!

Actually, Dragon Quest wasn't directly named after Dragon Ball. However, Akira Toriyama, the mastermind behind Dragon Ball, did contribute to Dragon Quest as a character designer, which might explain some of the stylistic similarities.

Nope, Dragon Quest wasn't named after Dragon Ball. While both are legendary in their own right, Dragon Quest was created by Yuji Horii and released in 1986, two years after Dragon Ball started as a manga. Any connection between the two is coincidental.
