Nah, they weren’t die-cast. They were plastic. The real deal in collecting Hot Wheels is all about those metal models.

Absolutely they were. I remember trading fries for the coolest die-cast car my friend got in his Happy Meal. They were as real as it gets, with that classic Hot Wheels quality. Brings back memories of racing them across the restaurant floor... until we got told off.

Yep, 1993 was a golden year for McDonald’s Happy Meals since they did indeed come with Hot Wheels die-cast cars. They were part of a promo which kids (and adults secretly collecting) absolutely loved. Not only did they roll out some cool cars, but it was also a sweet deal because you got a toy AND a snack. Collectors still hunt these down as they’re considered a unique piece of Hot Wheels history.
