What are Hot Wheels castings made of?

Hot Wheels castings are primarily made of diecast metal. This gives them that cool, sturdy feel and the durability to survive just about anything a kid (or an enthusiastic adult) can throw at them. But don't forget, some parts like the interiors and wheels might be plastic to add details and keep them zooming smoothly on those epic tracks.
It's mostly diecast zinc alloy, AKA zamak. Learned that from obsessively reading the bottom of my cars as a kid. The details are what make them special, and that metal gives them the perfect weight for those loop-the-loops.
