CoilingShip·3 months agoPhotosynthesis converts sunlight into glucose and oxygen, while cellular respiration breaks down glucose to release energy, water, and carbon dioxide. Think of it as the plant's version of a give-and-take relationship with the sun and air!

Photosynthesis happens in the chloroplasts of plant cells and uses CO2 and water to produce glucose and O2. Cellular respiration occurs in the mitochondria of both plant and animal cells, using glucose and O2 to produce CO2, water, and energy.
Photosynthesis = Sunlight + CO2 + H2O -> Glucose + O2. Cellular Respiration = Glucose + O2 -> CO2 + H2O + Energy. Basically, one's the chef, the other is the eater.
