Basically, in Pokemon TCG, you've got a few key formats to play with. First, there's the Standard Format, which only allows cards from the most recent sets. Keeps things fresh and competitive. Then you've got the Expanded Format, which is like opening the floodgates to include a wider range of cards, going back several years. Great for creativity and strategic depth! Lastly, don't forget about the Unlimited Format; it's the wild west, where nearly all cards are fair game. Though not as common in official tournaments, it's perfect for casual play with friends where you can break out your entire collection.

Honestly, I mostly stick to Standard because it's easier to keep up with. But got friends who swear by Expanded since it lets them use their favorite older cards. To each their own!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
