First generation Pokemon cards are the OGs of the Pokemon TCG universe! We're talking about the cards that started it all, featuring fan faves like Pikachu, Charizard, and Squirtle. These cards came from the original sets released in the late '90s - Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, and so on. They're not just nostalgia bombs; they're highly sought after by collectors and can be worth a pretty penny.

The first gen Pokemon cards are basically your childhood in a deck. Think Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu - all the cool Pokemon from the 151 original lineup. If you had these back in the day, you were basically the playground boss.

First gen? That's basically everything before they started adding a million other Pokemon. Real talk, though, it's the cards from the earliest sets—1996 in Japan and 1999 in the US. Mostly, it's about Charizard. Let's be honest, everyone wants that Charizard card.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
