To be honest, all you gotta worry about is that Tanjiro and friends are making their way up the ranks by fighting more demons.

The demon ranks are kinda simpler: Lower Moons 6 to 1, and Upper Moons 6 to 1. And then there's Muzan at the top โ€“ can't forget him!

In Demon Slayer, the Demon Slayer Corps ranks from lowest to highest are Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, and Kinoe. Good luck remembering all that!

Lower Moons and Upper Moons for demons, and a bunch of Japanese names for slayers. Who cares? Tanjiro's gonna kick demon butt at any rank.

So, the ranks are like video game levels for demon slayers: you start at Mizunoto and work up to Kinoe. Same for demons: Lower to Upper Moons. Simple, right?
