In Demon Slayer, demons have ranks called the Twelve Kizuki. They are divided into Upper Moons (stronger) and Lower Moons (weaker). Upper Moons 1-6 are the most powerful, while Lower Moons 1-6 are less so.

The demon ranks are split into Upper Moons and Lower Moons. Upper are the top-level bad guys (1-6), and Lower, as you can guess, are the lower-tier ones (also 1-6).
From personal experience reading the series, the Twelve Kizuki are the demon ranks. Upper Moons 1 to 6 are insanely strong, and the Lower Moons 1 to 6 are powerful but not as much.
Upper Moons: 1-6, Lower Moons: 1-6. That's all you need to know.
Honestly, just remember Upper Moons (1-6) = bosses, Lower Moons (1-6) = mini-bosses!
