The Pokemon cards actually came first! They were introduced in Japan in October 1996, while the Pokemon anime television series didn't air until April 1997. So, those pocket monsters hit the card tables before they ever battled it out on TV screens.

Definitely the cards. They laid the groundwork for what became an iconic show. The show added to the hype, but those original cards? Pure gold from the start.

Cards, end of story. The Pokemon TCG kicked off in 1996, a bit before the anime made its debut. It's cool to think how the cards set the stage for the massive Pokemania that swept the world after the show aired.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
