GTA 4 is based on a fictional version of New York City, known in the game as Liberty City. It's pretty much an open secret at this point that when you're causing chaos in Liberty City, you're really running around virtual streets inspired by the Big Apple itself. From the iconic Liberty Statue (a take on the Statue of Liberty) to the Broker Bridge (reminiscent of Brooklyn Bridge), the game's developers did a fantastic job capturing the essence of NYC.

I used to live in NYC and the first time I played GTA 4, it was like walking down memory lane - except for the whole crime spree part. Seriously, it's based on New York City, and the attention to detail is incredible. You can even find places that kinda remind you of real spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It鈥檚 like a tour of NYC with a twist.
