Attack on Titan takes place in a fictional world, so there's no real-life country to compare it to. But the manga's creator, Hajime Isayama, has mentioned that the design of the world was inspired by Germany!
As a long-time fan, I can tell you the setting is entirely fictional, but has clear European influences, especially Germany. Makes sense with all those walls and castles!
