What Do Grades Mean in Pokemon Cards?
WanderingFacet路7 months agoGrades are pretty much a quality rating. Think of them as a way to brag about how awesome your card looks. Higher grade, higher bragging rights.

It's all about condition. A high grade (9-10) can make a card's value skyrocket. Lower grades (1-2), not so much. But honestly, to me, it's the love for the game and the nostalgia that counts more than the grade.
Grades on Pokemon cards basically give you the lowdown on how pristine or in what shape the card is. It's like getting a report card but for your Pokemon cards. A grading company checks out your card for any flaws - think scratches, how well-centered it is, or if there are any bends. They slap a grade on it from 1 to 10, where 10 means your card is basically perfection, mint condition. Higher grades usually mean the card is worth more to collectors. So, a grade 10 card? That's the dream.
I once got a grade 10 on a rare card - felt like winning the lottery. The value went through the roof!
