What does 'GTA' mean in texting?
CopyingSole路7 months agoGTA usually stands for Grand Theft Auto, a popular video game series where you play as a criminal mastermind. But in texting, it could also just mean 'Going To Atlanta' if you're chatting with friends about travel plans. Context is key!

In the gaming world, 'GTA' definitely refers to Grand Theft Auto. So, if someone texts you they spent the whole night playing GTA, they weren't out stealing cars for real, just virtually in the game.
Honestly, I've never seen 'GTA' mean anything other than Grand Theft Auto. It's such a popular game, it kinda owns the acronym in any context.
'GTA' in texts? Always Grand Theft Auto for me. If someone's going to Atlanta, they usually just say Atlanta. No need to abbreviate a city name that's already pretty short.
