What does protection do in MTG?
EarningOunce路7 months agoProtection in Magic The Gathering is like your card's personal bodyguard against whatever it's protected from. Basically, it can't be damaged, enchanted, equipped, blocked, or targeted by anything it has protection from. So, if your creature has protection from red, red spells and red creatures can't touch it. Simple as that!

PROTECTION = Can't touch this! It means the card is safe from damage, enchanting, equipping, blocking, and targeting by whatever it's protected from. So, got a creature with protection from green? Green creatures can't lay a finger on it.
Not as OP as it sounds. Sure, protection stops a bunch of stuff like damage and targeting from whatever it's protected against. But remember, it doesn't make your card invincible. Board wipes that don't target can still wipe it off the map. Always read the fine print!
