What does 'protection' mean in Magic: The Gathering?
In MTG, 'protection' is a special ability that does pretty much what it sounds like - it protects! When a card has protection from something (like a color, card type, or even a specific name), it means it can't be damaged, enchanted, equipped, blocked, or targeted by anything it has protection from. So, if your creature has protection from red, all those fiery red spells won't even scratch it!

Protection in MTG means "DEBT": Damage, Enchant/Equip, Block, Target by whatever it's protected from. Super handy to remember!
Honestly, protection is overrated. Just play big creatures and smash.
