Basically, restricted means someone is on a need-to-know basis with your Facebook posts. If you don't post it publicly, they won't see it.
From my experience, restricting someone means they'll only see posts that you make public or posts you tag them in – perfect for keeping nosy colleagues at bay!
Restricted list = Facebook's way of giving certain friends a one-way ticket to limited visibility.
