So, in the world of Pokemon TCG, 'retreat' refers to the action of swapping your active Pokemon with one of your benched Pokemon during your turn. However, it's not always free! You usually have to pay a cost by discarding Energy cards attached to the Pokemon you're retreating. The number of Energy cards you need to discard is indicated by the retreat cost on the card. It's a strategic move used to save your Pokemon from getting knocked out or to set up for a more favorable match-up!

Retreat means running away but with strategy! If your active Pokemon is in a tough spot, you can switch it with a benched one. Just check the retreat cost on the card, cuz it ain't always free. Discard the required energy cards and poof, your Pokemon is safe on the bench.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
