The Tick reduces bosses' health by 15% when you enter the room and also gives you a small heal of one red heart if you're missing any. Be careful though, it's one of those trinkets you can’t really remove once you pick it up, unless you find a way to replace it with something like the Match Stick.

Short answer: The Tick sticks to you and makes bosses easier to defeat by lowering their health.

Pro tip: If you see the Tick and don’t have Mom’s Purse, you might wanna think twice before picking it up!

The Tick is basically glued to you once you pick it up, but hey, it makes boss fights easier with that 15% health reduction!
