Validating on Steam is like a digital check-up for your games. It's the process where Steam checks your game files to make sure everything's in tip-top shape. If it finds files that are missing or corrupted, Steam automatically downloads replacements for them. Think of it as Steam giving your game a quick tune-up to ensure it runs smoothly!

It's just a fancy term for Steam checking your game files are all correct and complete. If not, it fixes them.

Validating is just Steam's way of doing a headcount of your game files to make sure nobody's missing. If it finds any troublemakers (corrupt or missing files), it'll straighten things out by grabbing fresh copies.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
