Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they used RAGE again for GTA 6. Rockstar loves making it look pretty and run smoothly. That engine's like fine wine, gets better with age.

GTA 6 is gonna run on the RAGE engine, just like the past Rockstar games. They've been upgrading it over the years, so expect some really slick graphics and physics.
