Fakes? Easy. Look at the border color and card back. If they're even slightly off from what you know a real card looks like, you've got your answer.

Honestly, just smell them. Real Pokemon cards have a distinct smell that fakes just can't replicate. If your card smells like your old basement or chemicals, it's probably a fake.

Fake Pokemon cards often have telltale signs. The colors might look off, like too bright or too dull. The texture's another giveaway; real ones have a certain smoothness and a bit of a sheen, while fakes might feel too glossy or too rough. Then there's the card weight and thickness; fakes often feel lighter or thinner. Lastly, check the spelling and font - mistakes here are dead giveaways!

The holographic pattern on a fake card is usually pretty laughable. Real holo cards have patterns that are clear and beautiful, fakes look like someone threw glitter on them in the dark.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
