Atli goes through quite the character arc. He starts off as one of the mercenaries under Askeladd, but after a series of events, including his brother Torgrim losing his mind, Atli tries to reform. Unfortunately, he meets a tragic end when he’s executed by Thorkell despite trying to turn over a new leaf.

Simple: Atli dies. Life in Vinland Saga is rough!

Atli has a tough time throughout the series. He works under Askeladd but things go downhill fast. His brother goes crazy, and later on, despite his best efforts to change, Thorkell executes him. RIP Atli.

Ah, poor Atli. He tries to make amends for his past but ends up being executed by Thorkell. Talk about bad luck!
