In GTA 5, the Grove Street Families still exist but they're not the same powerful gang from back in the day. The Ballas, their rivals, have taken over their territory in Grove Street. It's a bit of a sad comeback, really. Rockstar decided to show how times have changed in Los Santos, with the once-dominant green wearing gang losing ground to the purple-wearing Ballas.

Grove Street Families? More like Grove Street has-beens in GTA 5. Basically, they got overrun by the Ballas and their presence is pretty much history. Miss the good old days when Grove Street was the heart of gang life in San Andreas.

In GTA 5, Grove Street and the Families are just a shadow of what they used to be in San Andreas. You can find some members hanging around, but they don't hold the power they used to. It's all about the Ballas now.
