Launch basically vanished after the original Dragon Ball series! Despite her popularity, she never really appeared in Dragon Ball Z, except for a few quick flashbacks.

She was one of the best characters from the original series! But yeah, she just disappeared without any real explanation. Toriyama even admitted he forgot about her!
According to some sources, Toriyama forgot about her because the story shifted focus to Saiyans and other alien threats. Bummer, because she was cool!
