Looks like the Solo Challenge mode in Words with Friends now appears on a rotating basis with other game modes. Just keep an eye out for it — it'll swing back around eventually!

Zynga probably changed things up to keep the game fresh. Check for updates or special events; solo play might pop up there.

I contacted support about this, and they mentioned they cycle game modes to keep things interesting. Solo Challenge should show up again in future updates or special events. Hang tight!
