The Words with Friends chatroom got removed in one of their updates. Zynga likely wanted to focus on the core gameplay experience. Bummer, right?

They phased it out to streamline the app and improve performance. But hey, you can still chat with opponents in-game!

As someone who played for years, they axed the chatroom to reduce spam and make way for better features. It does make games smoother!
