Ymir Fritz gained the power of the Titans after coming in contact with a mysterious spine-like creature. She was then used by the Eldian King as a tool for war and to advance the Eldian Empire until her death, after which her corpse was fed to her daughters, Maria, Rose, and Sheena, to preserve her power.
