After you defeat the secret final boss in Sonic Mania, you'll get the true ending! You鈥檒l see a special cutscene where Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles escape from a collapsing dimension, with everything going back to normal. It's a fitting reward for collecting all the Chaos Emeralds!
After beating the secret final boss, I felt like a champ! But, story-wise, it mostly just wraps things up nicely with a bonus cutscene and a sense of completion.
