Deleting the Instagram app just removes it from your device. Your account, posts, and messages are still safe and sound if you re-download the app.
I deleted it once needing a social media detox. When I reinstalled it, my account and all my precious memes were still there!

Deleting the app doesn't delete your account or any data. You'll still be able to log back in and find everything just as you left it.
