Initializing your PS4 means it's going back to day one, like it just came out of the box. All your saved data, downloaded games, and settings will be deleted. Not kidding, you'll lose everything!

When you initialize your PS4, it will restore the system to its factory settings. Basically, all your data, games, and settings will be wiped clean. So make sure you back up anything important before taking the plunge!

I initialized mine once, and lost all my saved games. It was like starting afresh, but make sure to back up to the cloud or an external drive!

Hot take: Initializing is like hitting the reset button on life. Sometimes you just need a clean slate, but be ready to lose everything on the console.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
