lol imagine Steam shutting down, half the planet would forget what the sun looks like. But seriously, Valve, the company behind Steam, would probably let us download our games or give us a way to keep them. They know they'd have a riot on their hands otherwise.

Steam shutting down? Won't happen. It's like the internet going extinct. But hypothetically, if it did, we'd probably see Valve stepping in to ensure gamers don't lose their vast libraries. They're not villains.

If Steam were to ever shut down, the immediate concern for many would be access to their game library. Since Steam games are DRM-protected, theoretically, you wouldn't be able to play them if the servers went dark. However, it's likely Valve would implement some sort of solution to allow gamers to download and keep their games before any shutdown. Plus, with Steam being such a juggernaut in the PC gaming world, a shutdown is highly improbable without a huge warning and a plan to protect users' purchases.

Nah, Steam won't shut down, but if it does, it's back to buying physical copies for me. Retro gaming resurgence, anyone?

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
