What Happens in Each Stage of Mitosis?
SigningSpine路3 months agoSo, in prophase, things get crazy as chromosomes get ready and visible. Metaphase is all about lining up. Anaphase pulls them apart, and telophase is like putting everything back together in new cells. Easy peasy!

During prophase, chromosomes condense and become visible, the nuclear envelope breaks down, and spindle fibers begin to form. Next, in metaphase, chromosomes line up at the cell's equator. Anaphase follows, where sister chromatids are pulled apart to opposite poles. Finally, in telophase, nuclear envelopes reform around the separated chromatids, which decondense, and the cell divides through cytokinesis. Voila, two identical daughter cells!
When I observed mitosis under a microscope, I saw chromosomes get all organized just to split up again. It鈥檚 like a well-rehearsed dance!
Prophase: Chromosomes prep. Metaphase: Line dance. Anaphase: Great Divide. Telophase: Setup new HQs.
