Season 4, titled High School DxD Hero, got a new animation studio called Passione. They changed the art style to better match the light novels.

New studio, new look! Passione took over the animation from TNK and gave it a fresh makeover in Season 4.

The switch to Passione studio in Season 4 of High School DxD changed the animation style to align more closely with the original light novels. Personally, I think they did a great job!
