From personal experience, becoming the galaxy's worst nightmare can be quite entertaining but will definitely lock you out of some critical content.
So, if you kill everyone, expect a universe of lonely planets and a hefty load of missed content. Oh, and tons of loot.
Killing everyone just makes the game boring and empty.
